That being said, the graphics are/were the second oldest componant in the machine, behind the processor, and that is only because the CPU was installed about 5 minutes before it.

Luckily, I am now getting to a point where even a comp-whore of my standing can't see much place for improvement. Of course the CPU would be upgraded, but that would costs hundreds and hundreds for just a few extra megahurtz, and not even I can convince myself to spent such epic amounts on so little. All that I can see now is learning a lot about advanced cable managed to hide all the wires/cables, and water cooling, both will be some time yet - if ever.

The BPI has finally managed to get the Government - with the backing of 6 major ISPs - to finally push through a piece of legislation that will severely infringe on your internet usage - all in the name of "stopping illegal downloads".

He [Geoff Taylor] said: "There should be effective mechanisms in place (to deter file-sharing) and as long as they are effective, we don't mind what they are."

That is completely fucking unacceptable - what I do on my private internet line is my own fucking business, it is not the right of the BPI, OFCOM (which also support this by the way) or my ISP to snoop on what I look at/read. We also know that this will be no-way an option scheme, it will be a blanket thing, effecting 100% of the internet users in this country. But that isn't what worries me, what worries me is that this will not stop people that actually know what they are doing - banning guns doesn't stop the bad guys having them, only the "good law abiding citizens".

What worries me more though, is the people that will be effected by mistake - my mother for instance. I have known her to run files that are attached to Nigerian Bank Spam emails, so what happens to her when some cunt send her a song as an attachment, she downloads and opens it...and gets fucked by the BPI and her ISP within a week?

Got my new motherboard today, swapped everything over and she lives!!!!

Anyway.

However, you know when something is advertised as having "Extra Lumbar Support" that you have to have it - regardless of what! Never has my lumbar been in so much need for extra support, with my increasing lumbar pain and lumbar related illnesses.

Nothing to do with with lumber though - even though some would want you to believe it as such.

After my mobo getting picked up on Friday by the CityLink guy, I checked ebuyer just now to see if they had even recieved it yet.

So, I get home from work this morning, shattered, and hit the hay - check to see if the 12 hour rest I gave the PC made any difference - no, it didn't. Shame.

Once I get up, I finally pursuade myself to swap out the PSU and see if that is going to make a difference - the annoying thing is that this is going to take an hour at least and I'm 99% sure now that it won't make a blind bit of difference.

Go and find the old PSU from before I upgraded in April, swap it in and...
