or do something to get the cobwebs out of your cunt, you blind-fucker.
[T]rue gender equality is actually perceived as inequality. A group that is made up of 50% women is perceived as being mostly women. A situation that is perfectly equal between men and women is perceived as being biased in favor[sic] of women.
Jesus fucking Christ - true equality would be perceived as equal because that is what it is - in fact it doesn't need to be perceived as anything, as it exists in the state that is. There would be no need to "be biased" in favour (learn to spell you dumb shit) of women in the truely equal society - there would be no "Equal Opportunity" anything, be it Laws or movements, as it would exist.
In fact, "Equal Opportunity" is anything but equal - going by today's usage. Government Departments have this worse than anyone else - especially the Civil Service - because they actually have a quota of how many men/women black/white/asian they have to employ. It is - admittedly - set to the national demographic. I have heard stories (from people I know within the service) when they have had to refuse a better candidate purely on the bias he was a white male - even though he was the best. During this same time - admittedly a rather drastic one - they had to cut down a few departments to get back to a "status-quo" with the demographic, and had to fire the worst employees of a certain demographic. This actually led to a major uproar and the half the department quitting - but that's a story for another day - actually, I've probably already said too much.
Don't get me wrong, I believe that anyone should have the chance - as long as they have the ability - to get a job. I don't believe that just because a person's skin is a certain colour, or they whether they are doubling up on their chromosomes, or have one of each.
Race, sex, creed - for me at least - is simply not a factor, I couldn't give a shit if you were a Polka, Nigerian, Mongol, Disabled or Female - as long as you can do your job, then I have no problem with you - and outside of the workplace, I have no problem with you as long as you don't do thinks that are unacceptable regardless - murder, cheat, fraud, abuse.
Also - don't give me this "victim of circumstance" bullshit. I know people that been brought up in the worst areas of the country, and they don't drug run, or run with gangs - they have worked hard in school, gone to college and then Uni.
Granted, not all people have the intellectual ability to do all these things - I honestly don't believe that everyone should have an equal chance to go to Uni, if they have the intellectual know-how then of course they should, and nothing should hold them back - but I also know people that going to Uni would have been worse for them than just getting a job and getting "out into the real world".
The problem is, people are not equal. We are not clones with identical abilities and skills and outlooks on life, and should not be treated as such. However, when a situation arise - mostly job interviews and "the professional environment" - something as trivial as where you live/d, the colour of your sex, or if you have balls.
Everyone should - as long as they are able - have the same chance at anything as anyone else - be it education or jobs or healthcare.
Also, women, taking time off work to have a child is your choice. In this day and age there are 1,000 different ways to get rid of an unwanted child - hell, go bungee jumping, may at least have fun while you do it - and if your religion prohibits this, again, that is your choice. The old argument of women trying to come back to the workplace and not being able to jump right back in where they left off is old, tired, and completely skewed.
It has nothing to do with the fact that you had a kid.
Its because you had time off.
I am of course talking about long periods of absence, not the women that have 3 months maternity leave and then dump the kid with a nanny at the earliest possible moment, people that take years and years off work.
If I went on a round the world trip - back packing or what have you - for 3 years I would have been out of the industry for so long, that there is no way in hell I would be able to go back to my old job and do it as effectively as I was doing the day I left - it's a complete impossibility. If I was lucky, I may get a lesser job in the same company - but probably not the same division.
Same goes for job applicants, most pay is derived on experience and qualifications using a type of ladder system. Two candidates having identical skills, but one has 3 years most experience in the relevant area, wouldn't only just get hired over the other applicant, but would also get paid more for the same job, do to the market forces that effect employment.
But I swear I've said all this 1,000 times before.
Scuzzmonkey.
