I mean, seriously. All joking aside, this is FUCKED.
No one can seriously tell me that there was an honestly justified reason for refusing entry. If there was a genuine scrap of evidence to initially suspect him of being a terrorist I would get it. I do not believe you can suspect the intention to work illegally- you either have evidence that they are going to or you do not. If there is a suspicion without solid factual evidence, a more proportionate response is to have them checked up on.
Not calling family and friends is not an acceptable course of action. EVER. That's just plain sick and wrong, and its why I resent Scientology.
Incidentally, watch out for those forms on the way in, you actually sign away your human rights both under the Geneva convention and under the US Constitution (which is why a non-American can get thrown in Guantanamo (sp?) for posession of arms.
How is it that this oversized supersized superstate has become so damned paranoid it is refusing nationals of ALLIED nations entry under accusation of terrorism with no proper initiating evidence, and engaging in an "arrest/shoot first, ask questions later" style of policing not too dissimilar from that in the Nazi state?
And yes, it was like that in the Nazi state I studied ad nauseum at 'A' Level.
It would seem, if you meander around the internet for a while that this is not an isolated incident. One thing however, remains clear.
I can't find any complaints like this about any other given democratic nation anywhere on the web. Perhaps I am crap with google, but since I managed to locate a reaction mechanism for chromium trioxide and alcohol earlier today using it I highly doubt it (yes it took a fucking age). Alternatively, the USA has become a big bag of quivering paranoid bananas with very few exceptions. We call these intelligent people. They probably didn't vote for G.W. Bush.
Funny thing: because of this article I probably won't ever get access to the USA. Not convinced thats a disadvantage. Apart from anything, I'm associated with Scuzz, so I would probably be refused anyway.
This is why I don't write articles when I am truly pissed off. My writing wanders around in ever expanding twists and twizzles of random until eventually my brain finds the need for bed.
GAH!
