In all honesty, this needs no explanation by myself, I'll let the Rev. take it from here.

Charles Darwin: 200 years from your birth, the Church of England owes you an apology for misunderstanding you and, by getting our first reaction wrong, encouraging others to misunderstand you still.
Well, at least it's a step in the right direction, and to be honest, I agree with him. Evolution is not in direct conflict with most Christian teachings, most (read: non-fundamental) Anglican Christians accept that the Creation Myth is exactly that, a myth. However, I do not buy - not for one second - the notion that "God created Evolution". God as a higher - most likely alien - power makes logical sense, and is a possibility - God as an almighty creator? Not so much.
What does worry me though, is that that came the day after this. We already have Religious Education in schools, and Creationism is taught there - where it should be taught - as a religious belief. It should not - under any circumstance - be taught in a Science class, regardless of if the teacher says it has no basis in Science. If it has no basis in Science, what is it doing there in the first place?
I do love this country at times.
