Bill Thompson can suck my cock...
I have a few sites on my RSS ticketer that runs along underneath my address bar on Firefox, one of them being the BBC's Technology feed.
Bill Thompson is "go to guy" when it comes to "technical insight" into new technologies or products. I've been reading his articles on and off for the best part of the past 6 months, and I've noticed a very gradual trend.
It all started a few months back with this - something about how hard it is to upgrade your 360 to an elite. Ever since then - and I don't wanna come across as some whining fanboy - but he's seemed to completely flipped.
Everything is stupidly anti-Windows and pro-Mac.
Now, this wouldn't be so bad, if the article actually warrented slating or praise of either OS, yet it seems that MS have become his little kicked boy of choice.
Don't get me wrong, there are many fuck ups in Windows that need to be ironed out, Vista is still a fucking shambles, but SP1 should be making it a lot better. XP is still the best OS on the market, by far.
His article on the MacBook Air was sheer bollocks, I would go and link you lot to it, but really, a simple search on the BBC site will do, and frankly, I'm a lazy cunt and cba to do so.
From that point onward it has just got worse and worse. Yes, the bloke is perfectly entitled to his opinion...unless of course it is bollocks. Which it is.
How an IT Professional (or ex) can honestly advocate this piece of shit is beyond me, I hardly consider myself to be an oracle on information (well, not all the time at least) but seriously...come on!
Anyway have a look at some of the articles, and just watch them as they slowly become more and more and more one sided and bias. Hardly good journalism if you ask me.
How this doesn't make me a hypocrite?
This is my blog, I don't pretend to be right all the time, this is my opinion.
